Where moss grows and water sings, /
where butterflies share sweet caress: /
there I await your return /
My tears mingle with the brook.
Opened a new can of coffee and inhaled. That sets the day to moving. Next I'll write a poem.
f you wish to be a writer, write. (Epictetus) and so I wrote "Widow's Walk." Have you read it?

First scene of new play written (or at least I think it is.) A beginning is better than an empty page.
First learn the meaning of what you say, and then speak. Epictetus
With thanks to Yvonne for the original post. Why we all need a living will and how to do it.http://ping.fm/26cZh
About 27 tons of dust rain down on Earth each day from space, makes a total of almost 10,000 tons each year. How much in lands in your home?

Then, to appease her guilt, Father Frank will give her a penance, which he’ll already know will be doubled or even tripled. “She suffers from such religious pride,” the priest will reflect
WENT TO BOOKSTORE AND ASKED, "WHERE'S THE SELF-HELP SECTION?" SALESPERSON SAID IF SHE TOLD ME, IT WOULD DEFEAT THE PURPOSE. (Thanks Jon)
As the aim is not created for the purpose of missing the mark, so also does the nature of evil not exist in the world. (Epictetus)

Went to see "Talk Radio" at a local theatre group. Great performance. How disconnected people are. We need one another.
If you haven't ordered your copy of "Widow's Walk" yet, go to http://ping.fm/xA3ki and get some good reading material.
Started work on new play because it needs writing. This will require the old pen and notebook approach. Too much work formatting.

Good dinner with friends - what life is about.
Worked on editing my third novel, Times to Try the Soul of Man. I love the writing process.
Still getting our act together after a week of vacationing. Got the mail, went to Trader Joe's, meeting with my editor.
One of those stories that make impress me with the resiliency and dignity of humans. (From NY Times Sun Mag.) http://ping.fm/vPrW6

The first novel ever written on a typewriter, Tom Sawyer. My novel, Widow's Walk," was started with a quill pen but finished on a computer.
Every day more money is printed for Monopoly than the U.S. Treasury. (I'm not sure how to tell the difference anymore.)
The first couple to be shown in bed together on prime time TV was Fred and Wilma Flintstone.
The one thing that unites all human beings regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status, or ethnic background is that deep down inside we ALL believe we are above average drivers.

Went across CA from San Diego to Blythe on Route 78. The Salton Sea, the dunes, the vast farmlands: really remarkable. Very tired.
In 140 characters life is grand. Today we explore the Salton Sea. Then home tomorrow. Back to writing.

Saw B.D. Wong in one man show, Herringbone. He's very talented, but script didn't thrill. It did inspire me to think about my newest play.
Got that poem down (I think.) Accomplish one goal a day and keep on trekking.
Today working on a poem that is written by one of my characters, a teen in a psych hospital whose great passion is playing air guitar.

Last night I discovered the music of Allesandro Marcello. If you like Baroque, give him a listen. Very available on Pandora.
Today I regress. Going to Legoland. Asked why; my answer, "Why not?" Maybe I'll learn how to build character.

Great day. Went to wonderful concert. Had Moroccan for dinner. Helped Roz buy beads. Was offered another book publishing contract. Wow!
Last night I read a friend's poetry - raw, powerful, unhappy. Today I pray for him, but I also encourage his writing even if pain-filled.

What has happened to our national values? We've become organized crime.http://ping.fm/O5oSt
Some days the internet reminds be of Burma Shave, little snippets that add up to a big commercial. What are we selling to ourselves?

Barney Franks on the attack. At least one Dem is willing to tell it like he thinks it is. Shouting isn't truth.
Been reading horror movie scripts for a festival. Campy (or at least it's attempt) seems to be very in. Oh, to be eleven againl
People like Danny O’Brien don't just wash their cars – they bathe them with deliberation.

Great Balls of Fire: what could be a better way to go?
Decided to send "The Right Number" off to a short play competition. If you don't try, you've already failed.
Internet seems slow today. Perhaps it's me. Coffee all around.

Workshopped "The Right Number" at Space 55. Great audience response. Think I'll look for a ten minute play competition. Great fun.
In background TV drones about the health insurance crisis. I wish they'd discuss it meaningfully. Instead the politics becomes the message.

The joy of a rainy day. Perhaps I'll go back to bed and dream of cool mountain air to go with it.

Ignores the knowing youngsters' smirks

Watching Obama in NH. He's doing a great job of answering questions. Will the press cover that or a bunch of disruptive screamers outside.

Writers are like gods creating worlds. Readers are the angels who turn the pages so the characters may live.

Chassidic guests resulted in very interesting conversation. Grandson got first dirt bike; I got the video. Growth and change = a good day.
Having unusual visitors, a group of Chassidic students who are traveling cross country. Hooray for diversity and interesting discussion.

The messiness of democracy is better than the order of tyranny.
I love the rough and tumble of political history in particular. It seems like we are going through a hard fought period now. Yea democracy!
